  • amniocentesis
Chorionic villus sampling (CVS)

It is a diagnostic test that is performed during the I trimester, usually between 10 to 13 weeks of pregnancy. CVS is done to determine whether or not a baby has a normal number of chromosomes (46).

Amniocentesis

Amniocentesis is a diagnostic test that is performed during II trimester, typically between 15 and 18 weeks of pregnancy. It can be performed at any time during a pregnancy. Amniocentesis is to determine whether or not a baby has a normal number of chromosomes (46).
