Anorexia is a psychiatric diagnosis that indicates an eating disorder characterized by low body weight. The person is filled with an obsessive fear of gaining weight. Individuals with anorexia control their body weight through voluntary starvation, excessive exercise, purging and other weight control measures, such as the use of diuretics or diet pills.

Anorexia basically affects adolescent females of age in range16-26. If she is 5'5 then she'll be weighing around 1000-105 pounds. But a 700-pound person can also be detected with anorexia. A BMI less than 17.5 in adults, or 85% of the expected weight in children, is one of the common physical features in diagnosing anorexia
