Do urinary tract infection cause serious health problems?

Urinary Tract Infection or UTI are the infections that are caused in the urinary tract. Microbes or the organisms that aren't visible with bare eyes account for this infection- including viruses, bacteria and fungi. The major cause for UTI is bacteria.

Most of the Urinary Tract Infections aren't serious but, some of them may lead to serious consequences like kidney infection. Long term or chronic kidney infection may cause permanent damage like high blood pressure, kidney scars, poor kidney functioning, etc. Some acute infections, that show their symptoms suddenly, are even life threatening, especially when the bacteria gels up with the bloodstream, a condition known as septicemia.
